Parents are putting their 12-year-olds on weight-loss drugs — and trying not to shatter their self-esteem in the process

I was tasked to make an illustration to go alongside a story about parents struggling to balance promoting self-esteem and body positivity while also putting their kids on weight-loss medication. The client made a call out to my past work and felt that my abstraction of the human form could cater really well to this story. So, I focused on making a figure-centric image that centered the children mentioned without demonizing the parents.
